my roots lie in kurzeme,
on the western coast of latvia.

baltic traditions carry a worldview
that closely weaves nature, soul, and god.

this has instilled in me
a deep reverence for the natural world
and the interconnectedness of all things.

i found metalworking by accident.

i watched metal melt.

those five seconds
changed the way i see the world.

in that moment
i felt the universe
in its power and structure.

and i found myself.

today my studio practice
is an ongoing study
of a primitive yet poetic language.

metal carries it
in deep, silent knowing.

iron has been here
since the beginning of time.

working with it teaches
about time,
presence,
and being human.
